What is Anthropology?
Before you dive into all the great secrets our past hides, let's answer one of the questions I hear asked every time I tell anyone about this blog: what is anthropology? It is best understood through its four branches.

Socio-cultural Anthropology -- This is the study of human culture (well-named, I know) as well as how culture and societies come about.
Biological Anthropology -- This is the study of behavior and biology in humans, especially in the context of extinct hominin ancestors and primates. It centers around evolution.
Archaeological Anthropology -- This uses the study of artifacts humans have left behind to uncover more about how we developed.
Linguistic Anthropology -- This mostly deals with how language shapes human societies and culture.
